Bond $3M for man charged in murder of North Chicago teen

Bond has been set at $3 million for the man charged with murdering a teenager in North Chicago.

Jim McPherson, 21, is charged with murder, armed violence and possession of a controlled substance.

Janay McFarlane was killed Friday, the same day her sister attended President Obama’s speech on gun violence on the South Side.

North Chicago police charged McPherson with murder and other crimes Tuesday night.

Another person of interest is still being held on a parole violation.

So far, he has not been charged in the McFarlane case.
