Sergeant shot at while pursuing suspects in Jefferson Park

A Chicago police sergeant was shot at while following possible robbery suspects in the Jefferson Park neighborhood.

The shooting happened at Wilson and Kilpatrick around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Police say the sergeant was following the suspects relating to an armed robbery of a liquor store at Cicero and Foster when they fired at his car.

The sergeant did not fire back. He was not hit, but a bullet struck another vehicle.

The person inside that car was not hurt.

Two suspects were caught and taken into custody.

No charges have been filed at this time.
