CHICAGO --Severe storms blew through the Chicago area Wednesday night hitting the south suburbs extra hard.
High winds knocked down trees and power lines in Kankakee. Residents say it passed through pretty quickly.
In South Holland, the storm brought down part of this building.
The collapse left debris scattered outside in the 1500 block of South LaSalle.
No one was injured in the collapse.
More than 20,000 ComEd customers lost power during the storm. That number is down to about 5,000 this morning-- most are in Kankakee County.
