Temps drop 20 degrees in minutes as strong winds sweep the North Side

CHICAGO -- The Slight Risk area for severe storms has shifted east with the storm complex. A Marginal risk of isolated severe storms remains over the Chicago area.

A Squall line swept the Chicago lakeshore hitting the Edgewater shoreline on Chicago’s North Side with 46 mph gusts.

Temperatures plummeted in the T-storm outflow falling from 90 to the low 70s in minutes. Calm Lake Michigan waters were whipped into white caps.

Once storms are clear of the area, temps will rebound as the larger scale air mass within which these storm are occurring remains very warm.
