Storms cause widespread flooding in the Northern suburbs

Traffic on the Edens Expressway on Winnetka Rd. is moving again after being at a standstill Saturday evening.

The standing water was about three-feet deep when WGN crews arrived to the scene.

IDOT trucks were able to tow several stranded cars away as the water receded.

Storms moved into the area causing some downed tree limbs and power outages. One of the major problems: flash flooding.

Especially near Sheridan Road in Winnetka.

Com Ed says more than 20,000 customers are without power. Again traffic is moving again in both directions on the Edens Expressway.
