16-year-old suffers fatal asthma attack after shooting that left 3 dead

CHICAGO -- Three people are dead and two are injured after a fight over a parking space at a block party Wednesday night.

Among them was 16-year-old Jessica Williams, who had an asthma attack during the chaos that followed the shooting and later died at the hospital.

Dozens of people were gathered in the 800 block of east 50th place for a block party in memory of Williams' cousin who was shot and killed several years ago. It's unclear exactly what sparked last night's shooting, but Williams' relatives say it was a fight over a parking spot.

25-year-old Denzel Childs was shot multiple times and was pronounced dead at Stroger hospital where his mother was in disbelief.
Also killed: a 34-year-old mother, Kayana Armond, who was shot in the neck.

And two women were injured including 21-year-old Jaccara Reeves, who was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital for hand surgery. Her friend tried to shield her from the gunfire, and was shot in the back.

After the shooting Facebook sent out a safety check for the violent crime in Chicago, a feature that’s usually activated after terror attacks or natural disasters to let users tell their friends they're safe.

No one is in custody.
