Drew Peterson to be sentenced Friday in murder-for-hire plot

CHICAGO — Drew Peterson will be sentenced Friday for his conviction on charges of trying to have Will County Prosecutor James Glasgow killed.

Peterson, 62, will have a chance to speak at the hearing in downstate Randolph County.

In May, a jury found him guilty of trying to arrange a hit on Glasgow who had won a conviction against Peterson on charges of killing his third wife, Kathleen Savio.

Peterson was serving a 38-year-old sentence for that conviction when he arranged a murder-for-hire plot with a fellow inmate at Menard Correctional Center.

The other inmate was working with investigators and wearing a wire.
