UPDATE: Storms expected across DuPage, Kane counties


CHICAGO—The National Weather Service in Chicago cancelled a severe thunderstorm warning for west central DuPage and southeastern Kane counties.

At 3:34 p.m. radar detected a severe thunderstorm over Batavia with winds of up to 60 mph.

The storms have since decreased in intensity, although gusty winds and heavy rains are still possible.

Locations impacted include Aurora, Joliet, Naperville, Bolingbrook, Berwyn, Wheaton, Downers Grove, Elmhurst, Lombard, Romeoville, Plainfield, Oswego, Glen Ellyn, West Chicago, Batavia, Westmont, Lisle, Villa Park, Brookfield, and Hinsdale.
