UPDATE: South Shore Line trains moving after ‘wire damage’ suspended service
CHICAGO — Trains on the Northwest Indiana Commuter Transportation District’s South Shore Line are moving again after “overhead wire damage” near the Hegewisch Station stopped all trains.
A train was stranded on the tracks west of the Hegewisch Station as crews worked on repairs and to stabilize the wire.
For commuters looking for alternatives, the Metra Electric District honored South Shore tickets until service was restored.
This is a developing story. Please check back here for more updates.
