Chicago logs first tornado in nearly a decade near Midway Airport

CHICAGO -- A tornado touched down Tuesday within city limits for the first time since September 2006, according to the National Weather Center.

A landspout tornado is confirmed to have occurred on the Southwest Side of Chicago, just north of Midway Airport, between 3:48 p.m. to 3:58 p.m.

No damage has been reported with this land-spout tornado, which formed on the lake breeze boundary.
