Notre Dame ranked 10th in preseason AP poll, Alabama No. 1

As the Olympics end, the college football season gets set to start. To make it official The Associated Press has released its preseason poll, with defending national champion Alabama on top for the fifth time overall in the preseason poll. The Tide received 33 of 61 first-place votes from the media panel and 1,469 points. Second-ranked Clemson, which lost to Alabama in the national title game, received 16 first-place votes and 1,443 points.

Rounding out the first five are Oklahoma, Florida State and LSU.

The second five are Ohio State, Michigan, Stanford, Tennessee and Notre Dame.
