Funerals held for murdered Sycamore mother, son; $11K reward offered in case

SYCAMORE, Ill. -- Funeral services were held today in Sycamore for a murdered mother and son, as DeKalb County police continue to look for leads in the double homicide that has shaken the small tight-knit community.

Hundreds have come to Saint John's Lutheran Church to mourn Patricia Wilson, 85, and her son, Robert Wilson, 64. Patricia Wilson was very active at the church.

Last week the mother and son were found murdered in Patricia wilson's home on Old State Road, east of Sycamore. Both were beaten to death.

Patricia's Wilson's white 2010 4-door Chevy Impala was stolen from the scene.


DeKalb County Sheriff Roger Scott says the investigation is going at full strength. The major case squad, made up of investigators from several neighboring departments, has been working all weekend.

Officers put up an informational roadblock last night to see if they could find any new clues.

20 investigators working on the case that has brought in hundreds of leads. So far, no motive has been given.

DeKalb County Crime Stoppers is offering an $11,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the killer or killers.
