2 men shot by Illinois State Police in Chicago

CHICAGO —  An Illinois State Trooper shot and wounded two men in the backseat of a taxi on the South Side. Authorities say one of the men pulled a gun and refused to drop it.

The situation began Thursday around 8:30 p.m. A taxi driver claimed his passengers refused to pay.

The man accused of having the gun was hit twice in the stomach, while the other man was shot in the toe.

One person, a 23 year-old, was released from Stroger Hospital, and is in custody. The other, a 25 year-old, is in stable condition.

Authorities say they recovered a gun.

No word on possible charges.
