Shooting victim crashes on way to hospital; 4 others injured, including 2 children

CHICAGO — Authorities say a car accident sent five people to the hospital Sunday on 10151 S. State St. in the Roseland neighborhood just after 12 p.m.

Police say the accident happened because a 37-year-old man was trying to drive himself to the hospital because he had been shot.

The man crashed into another vehicle on the 10100 block of State St.

Four people who were in the other vehicle were transported to hospitals.

A 24-year-old woman was taken to Christ Medical Center in critical condition.

1-month-old baby was taken to Christ Medical Center in critical condition.

A 5-year-old child was taken to Roseland Community Hospital in stable condition.

A 45-year-old woman was transported to Roseland Community Hospital in stable condition.

The 37-year-old man who was shot was taken to Christ Medical Center in critical condition. 

 Police are still investigating the scene and could not confirm yet where the man was shot.
