Metra train struck by lightning in Rogers Park
CHICAGO — A Metra train on the Union Pacific North was struck by lightning near the Rogers Park Station Tuesday morning.
The lightning strike caused a mechanical problem for outbound train No. 309, scheduled to arrive in Kenosha at 8:18 a.m. As a result, train No. 309 will combine with train No. 311 and run express Rogers Park to Highland Park, then make all stops to Kenosha. Train No. 313 will make all stops to Highland Park.
There’s no word on any injuries related to this incident. No other information is available.
