Man killed, at least 17 injured in shootings across Chicago

CHICAGO -- A man was killed and at least 17 others have been injured in shootings across Chicago since Tuesday afternoon.

A 20-year-old man was fatally shot and an 18-year-old man was injured in a shooting in Pilsen around 12:45 a.m. Wednesday. The two men were standing on the 1800 block of South Throop Street when someone pulled up in their vehicle and opened fire.

The 20-year-old was struck in the back and transported to Stroger Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The 18-year-old was shot in the back as well, and transported to Stroger Hospital in serious condition.

Another shooting in the city wounded four people as they stood outside a restaurant in West Englewood Tuesday night.

Two men and two women were talking near 69th and Ashland, when someone ran out of a vacant lot nearby and shot at them.

Three of the victims were shot in the leg; the fourth was hit in the arm.

They are all hospitalized this morning. No one is in custody.
