CHICAGO -- It was the second day of classes at Ogden International School when staff there discovered an unwelcome surprise in the faculty bathroom: a plastic device resembling a camera.

In a letter to parents, Principal Michael Beyer said they contacted the Chicago Police Department and a sweep of the school's buildings conducted by security did not turn up any other devices.

"This device is not designed to send information, so we are confident that no images were transmitted by the device," Beyer wrote.

The school called police to remove it.

Police confirmed that they recovered what appeared to be a camera, and detectives are investigating.
