CHICAGO -- It takes a little muscle, a little technique and a lot of patience to master the axe throwing Chicagoans will get to experience when Bad Axe Throwing opens its doors in a little over a week.
The Canadian company already has 10 locations up north, but its newest spot at 165 N Loomis St. in the West Loop is its first U.S. venture. And while it sounds dangerous so far there haven't been any accidents according to the man behind it, Julian Rutkowski.
“We’ve probably had close to 20,000 patrons come through our doors with no accidents, no appendages lost, nothing,” he said.
Sounds easy right? Well, it takes a bit of practice.
“Typically the people who have the best results off the bat are smaller women who come in and are just more receptive to the coaching,” Rutkowski said.
It is certainly addicting, and if you’d like to check it out for yourself, Bad Axe Throwing is holding an open house September 23-25, and then it is open and ready for reservations.
