Wife of Jesse Jackson Jr., Sandi, released from federal prison

ALDERSON, W. Va -- Former Chicago alderman Sandi Jackson has been released from federal prison.

Jackson had been serving a prison term for corruption since October of last year.

She was in a minimum security camp in West Virginia.

Sandi was supposed to serve a one-year term, so she's out a bit early.

She was alderman of the 7th Ward until 2013, when a corruption scandal ended with her and her husband, Jesse Jackson Jr. entering guilty pleas.

The judge staggered their sentences because of their two children.

Jesse Jackson Jr. served 22-months and is now on parole.

No word yet on whether Sandi will have to spend time in a halfway house.

She’s expected to be on supervised release for 12-months.
