Enhanced security in place for Chicago Bears home games

CHICAGO -- The Chicago Bears’ home opener at Soldier Field is on Monday Night Football, and fans will be greeted with enhanced security measures.

Everyone attending the game will first walk through metal detectors, before having their carry-on items searched.

This policy was in place during the two preseason games, and it will remain for every home game this season.

Gates open two hours prior to kickoff for all games, and fans are advised to show up early.

There are several restrictions in place on the types and size of bag that can be brought in.

Bags must be clear and not exceed 12” x 6” x 12”.

Small clutch bags, not exceeding (4.5” x 6.5”) are also allowed.

Exceptions for medically necessary items can be made after proper inspection.

Large purses, briefcases, backpacks, or fanny packs are among those items that are prohibited.
