CHICAGO-- Police have confirmed the identity of a man found dead in a burning car in Pilsen last week.
The body 43-year-old Jim Gerage was found Friday night around 8 p.m. in the 600 block of West 21st street, after emergency crews put out a car fire.
His body was found in the backseat.
Gerage is from of the far northwest suburb of Barrington Hills. He and his brother own Omega Demolition, which is based in Elgin. The company made news in April when one of their workers was killed during an accident on a job site, tearing down the Touhy overpass on I-90.
For now, the circumstances surrounding Gerage's death remain unknown. There is no public account of what happened.
Detectives say they are waiting on a full medical examiners report.
