Mayor Emanuel is looking for a few good mentors

CHICAGO — Mayor Emanuel wants to increase the number of youth mentors in the city as a way to lower gun violence.

He’s doubling his goal for the “Mayor’s Mentoring Challenge” and wants to add 2,000 additional volunteers to the program.

Last year, 800 chicagoans gave their time to be a positive role model for at-risk kids.
