Truck driver tased after leading Indiana authorties on bizzare pursuit

HAMMOND, Ind. --  The driver of a semi-truck is recovering from being tased after he took police on a chase in Indiana.

The pursuit began in Whiting, Indiana and went on for 51 miles.

At least two police squads and several other cars were damaged during the pursuit that began in Whiting and went through East Chicago, Calumet City, Lansing and Hammond.

The driver is a 44-year-old man from Jacksonville, Florida.

Police say when he finally did stop his truck he resisted and they had to use a taser.

Police aren't saying why the driver took off when the police in Whiting first tried to make the stop.

He is now under arrest and faces several felony charges including reckless driving.
