Dedicated Cubs fans camp out for chance to score last-minute tickets

CHICAGO -- Anxious and excited Cubs' fans came from near and far to wait in line in front of Wrigley Field this morning, hoping for a little bit of luck and a chance to buy tickets to tonight's game against the Dodgers in game 1 of the NLCS.

Bill Sweeney is a life long Cubs fan who lives in New York. He says it was worth the price of an airline ticket from Syracuse to fly out to Chicago ... to wait in line at Wrigley ... to TRY to get into the ballpark for game one of the NLCS.

All of these diehard Cubs fans waited in line for hours on end, hoping there would be good news at the end of this long line.

Lisa Jimenez was second in line. She says she's been waiting in line for almost 24 hours.

While there was no guarantee tickets any specific number of tickets would be on sale, or even available, the Cubs were also giving fans the opportunity to win a chance to buy World Series tickets on their website, should they beat the Dodgers in the NLCS.
