Chicago area teens warned of dangers of texting and driving

CHICAGO -- A warning for teenagers who text and drive.

The Illinois Partners for Traffic Safety hosted on Wednesday its annual Teen Driver Safety Fair.

The free program during National Teen Driver Safety Week is open to all schools in the Chicago area.

It took place at House of Hope Arena at 752 East 114th Street in Chicago.

Students had a chance to see the effects of texting and driving in a rollover accident simulator, among other presentations and activities.

Traffic crashes are the number 1 killer of teens.

The seminar is free and open to the public Saturday, October 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at House of Hope.
