Fans flock to meet ‘The Boss’ Bruce Springsteen

CHICAGO -- The crowd started gathering before 7 a.m.  Monday morning, and by the time The Boss rolled into the Loop, a line of people snaked around the entire block near Books-a-Million on Clark just to get a few seconds next to Bruce Springsteen. He surprised fans by arriving a full 30 minutes before the scheduled start of the event to take pictures and hand out autographed copies of his best-selling autobiography Born to Run, named after his famed third album.

Amy Rutledge joined the fans waiting in the rain to find out why they wanted to meet the music icon.
