CHICAGO — President-elect Donald Trump called Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel to pick his brain in preparation for taking office, WGN has confirmed.

Trump asked the mayor about his experiences with both the Clinton and Obama presidencies, and what lessons were learned during their transitions.

The call, made in the last week, was cordial and the two said they’d keep the lines of communication open.

Trump has also spoken with New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio and Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti.
