Suspect arrested in murder of railroad security guard

HARVEY, Ill. -- A suspect is in custody in the murder of a railroad security guard in Harvey.

24-year old Rashad Williams of East Hazel Crest is charged with First Degree Murder.

Williams was arrested Sunday night in Chicago Heights as he was leaving a store. Police say he had a gun in his waistband

Investigators say Williams went on a crime spree that included stealing a car and killing 38-year-old security guard Tyrone Hardin.

Hardin was a father of six.  He was a security guard who was working for a company contracted out to the Canadian National railroad was gunned down Sunday in the Harvey rail yard he was patrolling.

Hardin will be laid to rest on Saturday.
