CHICAGO -- Chicago police say one person is in custody after a shot was fired at officers in the city's University Village neighborhood.
The shooting happened just before 2 a.m. Thursday as officers investigated a report of a person with a gun in the 800 block of South Miller Street, near the University of Illinois-Chicago campus.
No one was hurt in the shooting, which according to police is the sixth time that Chicago officers were fired upon since late November.
The person is in police custody and was reportedly extremely intoxicated at the time of the shooting.
A gun and a live round were recovered from the scene.
On Tuesday, one person was taken into custody after shots were fired at officers in the city's Gresham neighborhood.
Among the other recent shootings, a domestic violence suspect was fatally shot by Chicago police after he fired at them during a foot chase on Nov. 27. Police say two officers were injured, including one with an apparent graze wound from a bullet.
