3 injured after rollover crash involving ambulance in Naperville

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Three people were injured after an Aurora ambulance collided with a car in Naperville.

The Naperville Fire Department was called to the rollover crash on Ogden Avenue at Aurora Avenue just after 4 a.m. Tuesday.

The ambulance was returning to Aurora from Edward Hospital in Naperville when it crashed with a black Toyota Camry driven by a 52-year-old woman from Naperville.

Preliminary investigation indicates the driver of the Toyota was northbound on Ogden Avenue and the ambulance was westbound on Aurora Avenue when the collision occurred.

Two Aurora paramedics had to be extricated from the ambulance, and the driver of the car had to be extricated also. They were all transported to Edward Hospital.

All injuries appear to be non-life threatening.

No patients were on board the ambulance at the time of the accident.

The crash is under investigation.

No charges or citations have been issued at this time.
