Illinois’ unprecedented budget stalemate is setting up a contentious race for the Governor’s Mansion in 2018.

Both parties are already gearing up for the contest, which could prove to be one of the most expensive in state history.

Last week, the Illinois Democratic County Chairman’s Association ran it’s first straw poll, gauging interest on candidates looking to get in the race.
