Suspect charged in deadly shooting on Dan Ryan Ramp in Chinatown

CHICAGO – A  man charged in Wednesday’s  Dan Ryan Expressway shooting remains in the hospital undergoing mental evaluation.

Saturday in bond court, a judge denied Jeremiah Holt bail.  Holt was already under electronic monitoring for weapons and stolen vehicle charges.

Prosecutors say Holt walked up to a car on the Cermak off-ramp and shot and killed Jeremy Scullark. He also shot a 19-year-old passenger in the elbow.

Police arrested holt after a foot chase and recovered a gun.

Holt faces life in prison.
