ROBBINS, III. - Two men were killed in a crash in south suburban Robbins.
The accident happened at 139th and Kedzie Thursday night.
Officials say the driver was speeding when he knocked over a light pole before he hit a second light pole.
Firefighters found the vehicle wrapped around that second pole.
"We just know that he was traveling northbound on Kedzie at a high rate of speed. We don't know what caused the accident," said Robbins Deputy Fire Chief Mick Smtih.
It took them 30 minutes to cut through the wreckage, to reach the victims trapped inside.
The two men have not been identified.
Police were seen looking at a bicycle on the ground, about fifty feet from the scene. They now believe the bicycle was ejected from the SUV during the impact.
A temporary traffic signal has been put up after the pole holding the original signal was knocked down.
The Cook County Sheriff's office is leading this investigation. They're looking to see whether any other vehicles might be involved.
