Metra train derailment could impact evening rush-hour commute

CHICAGO -- Crews are still repairing damage from a Metra train derailment near Union Station, and that could impact the evening rush-hour commute on Wednesday.

Three cars of the inbound Southwest Service train went off the tracks just south of Union Station around 10:50 p.m. on Tuesday.

That derailment damaged the track, and switching and signal systems.

No word on what caused the derailment.

No injuries were reported.
