Police use ‘Find my phone’ app to find 10 stolen phones, suspected thief

A tech-savvy Chicago police officer used a phone finding app to track down an iPhone thief.

Ayesha Hayes is accused of stealing 10 iPhones worth more than $5,000 from a Near North nightclub between 2  a.m. and 4 a.m. Sunday.

The officer used the Find My iPhone app to track the stolen phone and saw that the phone appeared to be in a vehicle traveling only a few miles away.

Police responded and pulled over the vehicle where they found a total of 10 iPhones.

Hayes is charged with felony theft.
