A former Cook County jail guard was sentenced to 50 years behind bars for killing a man during a fit of road rage.

An Indiana jury found Edgar Singleton Jr. guilty of shooting and killing 23-year-old Montrell Moss last August.

Singleton was in a minivan near the HorseShoe Casino in Hammond when Moss threw a cup at the minivan after it cut him off.

Singleton claimed self defense saying Moss was reaching for a gun when he shot him.
