CHICAGO -- Don’t get too close to Lake Michigan, she’ll swallow you up today.
The fierce waves powered by high winds lapped up very close to Lake Shore Drive.
But the Drive stayed open.
The wet snow came down but didn’t stick. It was just messy.
Streets and Sanitation workers will be manning the storm all night from OEMC, sending trucks where needed, until the threat is gone.
The commissioner has already increased the number of plows to main routes and Lake Shore Drive during the evening rush.
