CHICAGO -- Right in the middle of the busy holiday shipping season, a FedEx van full of packages was stolen -- and then ditched a couple blocks away. Police say they still haven't determined if any packages are missing.

Around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, thieves somehow stole the FedEx home delivery van as it made its way through the Park Manor neighborhood. Officers flooded the area and searched for suspects, witnesses said. Police aren't saying how the van was stolen, but said that driver was not injured.

Workers unloaded dozens of packages from the van onto another truck, to eventually continue on to their destinations. Police say it's still unclear at this point if any packages were stolen.

No arrests have been made in the case.
FedEx issued a statement Wednesday saying:

“We are aware of the vehicle theft in Chicago today and are grateful that no one was injured. We are cooperating fully with the investigating authorities at this time. Customers with questions about their shipments can track their packages on http://fedex.com or call 1-800-GO-FEDEX.”
