Man killed in house fire on Chicago’s Southwest Side

CHICAGO -- A man was killed when a fire broke out in a Southwest Side home in the Clearing neighborhood Wednesday morning, officials said.

It happened at about 9:15 a.m. in a one-story home in the 5700 block of West 63rd Place, according to the Chicago Fire Department.

The victim, who is believed to be in his 50s, was transported to MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn where he lated died.
