Body recovered from Chicago River on South Side

CHICAGO--  A body has washed up in the Chicago River on the city’s South Side.

Chicago police were on the scene earlier this afternoon near Eleanor and Loomis in the Bridgeport neighborhood.

The body was badly decomposed.

It's unclear if foul play is involved.

A gender and age have not yet been determined.

The Cook County medical examiner's office is investigating.
