CHICAGO -- Chicago police are looking for three men who sexually assaulted a woman in the Albany Park neighborhood early Sunday morning.

Police say the 26-year-old woman was walking down a residential street just after midnight when three men approached her from behind. They threw her to the ground, and two men held her down while a third sexually assaulted her. They then robbed her before running off.

Police say the suspects were wearing black hoodies.  One of them has a tattoo near his right eye that might look like a dagger.

"I feel really safe around these streets so I’m really shocked by it,” said resident Stephanie Jimenez.

Many neighbors who live in the area, around the 4600 block of N. Monticello, say they’ve seen this community change over time.

"I’m not surprised to hear that it happened in this neighborhood. A lot of crime has happened in this neighborhood in the past few years,” said neighbor Troy Smith.

“A few months ago my roommate saw a shooting happen late at night,” neighbor Tessa Rawlings said.

Investigators are also alerting residents of Albany Park about the incident.

"There’s lots of drugs here. You see it going on all the time, in the alleys. You see it on the street corners," Smith said. "It appears to be a nice neighborhood. There’s an element in here that’s kind of bringing the neighborhood down.”

"I’m a little scared to be walking around the neighborhood now to think about it, a girl could get assaulted," neighbor Stephanie Jimenez said.

Anyone with information in the case is asked to contact police.
