CHICAGO – An elderly man was shot and killed on the South Side on Thursday afternoon.
Gene Gordon, 78, was walking near 68th and Hermitage around 4:45 p.m. when a car drove by and gunfire rang-out.
Gordon was hit in the head. He died at the hospital.
Police say the intended target was a 19 year-old sitting on a porch nearby.
Gordon lived in West England for more than 50 years. He was married, had four kids, and had great-grandchildren.
Community activist Andrew Holmes is offering a $2,000 reward for information that helps police find the person who fired the gun.
