2 Cook County sheriff’s officers among 3 injured in crash on Jane Addams

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. -- Charges are pending against the driver of a car that slammed into two Cook County sheriff's squad cars, injuring two officers.

The crash happened late Tuesday night on the Jane Addams Tollway in Arlington Heights.

Authorities say the officers were conducting a traffic stop when their vehicles were hit by a third car.

One officer was trapped inside the squad car and has been admitted to Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge.

The second officer was treated and released and the driver of the car was taken to Northwest Community Hospital.

None of the injuries are considered life-threatening.
