After a warm and sunny start, rain possible mid-week

Clear and chilly tonight with lows in the upper 20s inland and lower 30s in the city of Chicago. A little fog is possible. Mostly sunny tomorrow with highs in the upper 30s and wind chills in the lower 30s.

Mostly sunny Tuesday with highs in the lower 40s. Clouds increase Wednesday, leading to a slight chance for rain showers in the afternoon when highs reach the mid-40s.

Showers increase Wednesday night and become likely for Thursday when highs return to the mid-40s. As temperatures drop Thursday evening a chance for some snow arrives.

The chance for rain and snow continues overnight and into Friday morning including through the commute. Breezy north, northwest winds usher in colder air with highs expected to only reach the upper 30s.

The first weekend of winter is expected to be chilly, but dry. Partly sunny to partly cloudy skies are forecast for Saturday and Sunday when highs stay in the mid-30s.
