Man, 32, killed in snowmobile accident in Harvard

HARVARD, Ill. — A man was killed in a snowmobile accident in McHenry County.

The McHenry County coroner identified the man as Brandon Shields, 32.

Shields, along with two others, were driving snowmobiles around 1 a.m. Wednesday in the area north of Mokeler Creek in Harvard.

Officials said Shields crashed his snowmobile into a tree.  He was pronounced dead at the scene. There were white out conditions around the time of the crash.

Shields lived near the area.

An autopsy is scheduled Thursday.
