Police investigating confrontation involving Atlanta news crew outside R. Kelly’s Chicago studio

CHICAGO -- Police are investigating an incident outside of R. Kelly's studio on the Near West Side.

Last weekend, a judge ruled that Kelly is not allowed to use his studio, in the 200 block of North Justine Street, overnight. Yet, there was some sort of activity at the building late Sunday night.

A TV news crew from Atlanta — who are in Chicago covering a story about Kelly — says they saw a group of people leaving the studio around 11:30 p.m., and got out of their vehicle to confront them. Someone from the group then jumped in the crew's car, stole the keys, and drove off in another car.

The reporter from Atlanta says he believes it was one of R. Kelly's people.

No one has been arrested.
