3 injured, including 2-year-old, in drive-by shooting in Albany Park

CHICAGO — Chicago police are searching for the gunman who shot a 2-year-old boy and two adults on the Northwest Side.

The shooting happened around 9 p.m. Thursday on the 4900 block of North Kedzie Avenue in the Albany Park neighborhood.

Police said a 25-year-old man, 29-year-old woman and 2-year-old were sitting in a parked Jeep in an alley, when a white Hyundai with tinted windows pulled up and someone inside fired several shots into their vehicle.

The man drove the Jeep to Swedish Covenant Hospital where both adults were stabilized and transferred to Illinois Masonic Hospital. The 2-year-old boy was shot in the elbow and transferred to Lurie Children's Hospital in stable condition.

According to a source, the man and woman are siblings and the 2-year-old is the woman’s son.

Police said the man shot was known to authorities.

No one was taken into custody.
